1. Initial consultancy - clearing most of the major parameters of the company, the benefits and risks of using legal software, some legal aspects of the software piracy in Bulgaria, the benefits of the good software management. Some of the most important detail about oncoming software audit.
2. Formulate policies and procedures. Adopting a culture in which all your employees understand the value of the commercial software. Learn the difference between legal and illegal use, and commit to proper software use. Signing the confidential policy.
3. Conduct an inventory. Once you have a policy and a set of procedures in place, you have to take inventory of your hardware and software assets. You have to capture the following information for each copy of software installed on each computer - product name, version, vendor, department owner, license type, expiry date, all disk/CDs or other storage media used to install the programs on your machines, all original manuals and documentation, all invoices, proofs of purchase, and other documents proving the legitimacy of your software.
4. Create of formal list of the software that your company will allow its employees to use. Establish and maintain accurate records.
5. Regular checks on individual PCs that are cross checked with the registers and individual profiles.
